I married my high school sweetheart, Cathy Dickerson in a ceremony
held in 1971 at Fairview Baptist. I graduated from Boyd County
High School and Marshall University where I played basketball. I
served nine years in the Air Force at stations in Texas, Arizona, Italy
and Japan. We have a daughter, Brandy Kazee Clark, who was born to us
while stationed in Japan. I became a Christian in 1971, but not
until Cathy gave
her life to the Lord in 1978 did I think seriously about serving Him. Cathy, Brandy and I
became members of Fairview Baptist Church in 1994. We can
recall
many circumstances where our providential God 's gentle intervention, call,
nudge, pull and silence brought us through so many aspects of our lives. His answers may not have always been what we wanted,
but we realize His plan for us is for our own good and His glory. We love
our God so much and have never
regretted our decision to follow Him. We consider it an honor and
privilege to be called one of His and to be able to serve with our Pastor
Mike Rice and the Fairview family.

I
was born in Pike County, Kentucky, on October 15, 1949. My parents are the
late Edgar S. and Billie Bentley Osborne. When I was a child we moved out
of the coal fields and ended up in Ashland. My father worked at
ARMCO and my mother was a housewife. After I graduated from high school , I attended the University of
Kentucky. Shortly before moving to Lexington I met a Westwood girl on a
blind date. Her name was Rebecca Jones. Being away from
Ashland and from Becky was pretty tough, but it was tolerable when she
agreed to marry me and come to Lexington with me. Her example, her
witness and her persistent prayers led me to the Lord.
I graduated from UK and we moved to Middlesboro, Kentucky. We joined the
First Baptist Church of Middlesboro where I was baptized by Reverend Truett Miller. We became involved in the ministries of the
church
and still have some dear friends in Middlesboro. I was ordained as a
Deacon and about the same time we decided to start a family.
Our son, Sam, was less than a year old whenI had the opportunity to
transfer back to the Ashland area. Eleven months after transferring back to
Ashland, we were blessed with our daughter, Lydia. Sam presently
lives in Lexington, Kentucky, with his wife, Marie. Lydia is a
member here at Fairview, often to be found working in the nursery. God has blessed me greatly. His grace has saved me. His love
gives me peace! His providence gave me family, friends, and the
opportunity to live where I can serve Him! And that, folks, is what
I want to do most of all. I want to be of service to God's people at
Fairview Baptist Church.

I was born March 28, 1943. We lived at Denton,
Kentucky, until I
was nine-years-old. In 1952 our family moved to Itmann, West
Virginia and my father became a coal miner. In about 1954, I met my wife to be Billie
Jean Browning Pennington. We dated through high school and
went into the Army in May, 1960. When I left home, I knew I could not
live without her. So I went back and got her and we married
January 17, 1961. We have three daughters who went to church here all their
childhood.
Church didn't interest me until April, 2003. Billie finally
convinced me to come with her. In October, 2003 I met Jesus and it
has never been the same since. I love the Lord and I love serving
him.
